[It is the near the end of a day’s travel. The sun is descending behind the tree line, and a thickening fog muffles the sounds of the forest, leaving a strange sense of disconnection, as if you were one step removed from the normal world. Where in the world was this forest, again? Surely you are somewhere in your your home world, right? Right....
You continue walking. There is supposed to be village to spend the night up ahead, but the fog is making it terribly hard to see.]

Oh, wait. That is just some shrimpy kid hanging from a branch. He's got a massive hat and ... vines (?) hanging off his back. He's slumped over, too.]

Stepping closer, his black cloak just grazing the forest floor, he would gaze up quizzically at the figure.]
Are you alive up there? Merely, hanging around maybe?
[His face revealed no emotion, his eyes focused square on the figure hanging from the branch above.]
no subject
Help me down.

The briefest of glints passes through his eyes almost as fast as the memory that gave him pause.
He eyes the boy to better see how exactly he is being held up.]
Certainly, but what exactly is holding you up? It seems... unnatural?

To his question, he simply shrugs shallowly tilting his heads to the side.]
Broken strings. Now...
[Being impatient.]
no subject
Of course.
[He leaps to the branch and begins untangling them from the branch. Being perhaps a fraction too cautious about it. Before he undoes the last one...]
Brace yourself.
[Frees the stranger from his suspended state and hops back down to the ground.]

.... faceplants.
THERE IS NO WAY AROUND IT.
Getting up and brushing himself off like a cool cucumber. Fake it until you make it.]
You have my thanks.
[He looks up towards the sky. He can hardly see anything with the thick canopy in the way. No light can penetrate through.]
How troublesome. Well, I suppose you are deserving of a reward for the assistance.
no subject
No thanks needed.
[Hops off the tree very nondescript like.]
Though, if it is a reward you offer, I appear to be very lost. Do you know anywhere one could stay the night and perhaps tell me how you ended up in the tree?
[His smile a beacon of serenity.
Such an icon of kindness.
Surely a child of light and joy, right? Right?]

[He turns to look at him, to study him before he puts an arm to his back and feels the wires and tubes still attached.]
A fallen god. Temporary, of course.
no subject
A fallen god you say, how lucky for me.
[He would gesture forward, suggesting they begin their journey.]
How might I address one in such a high standing?
